On 9 July 1975, American musician Jack White was born in Detroit, Michigan. In 1997, White formed, along with then-wife Meg White, Grammy Award-winning garage rock band The White Stripes. The band was visually recognisable for their uniform of red, black and white. The White Stripes broke up in 2011, but Jack White remains a style and cultural icon. In 2006, White married supermodel Karen Elson. On White's birthday, we celebrate one of his best turn-outs, a bronze suit worn at the 2009 CFDA in attendance with fashion designer Anna Sui.
