How To: The Sequined Clutch

We found this tutorial video by Evelina Barry on how to make your very own sequined clutch. Instead of splurging on a sequined Mui Mui bag, make your own instead.

The materials required are:
-cheetah/leopard fabric.
-duck cloth canvas fabric.
-leathercraft glue.
-2 row sequin trim.

Instructions
1. Measure your canvas fabric. My zipper was 9 inches long so I gave my clutch a generous 9 and a half inches in the length and 6 inches in the width- 9×6.
2. Cut the satin fabric the same size as your clutch cutout and glue it with your Leathercraft Cement. This stuff is truly amazing.
3. Place a thin strip of glue along the drawn edges of your clutch and glue them together by folding. Wait until the glue is completely dry to unfold the clutch.
4. Sew on the zipper.
5. Measure the sequin trim to the length of the pouch and glue it down.
6. Glue down some silver sequins and beads in a organized zig-zag pattern.

Enjoy Crafting!

2 Ways To Wear: Wide Leg Pants

A leading star of Seventies fashion, the wide leg pants continue to bestow its wearer with instant sophistication today. It has become a staple in the collections of some French designer brands, such as Chloé and Celine, which are advocating a simpler, back-to-classics aesthetics. Fast becoming a must-have in every stylish wardrobe, it is also surprisingly versatile.

Here are two fabulous ways to wear it:

How To: The Braided Scarf

The scarf is possibly the most versatile wardrobe item you can own. Think of it as a blank canvas that you can work a lot of fashion magic on. There are a million and one ways to wear a scarf but my absolute favourite way to do it is to braid it. It is incredibly easy and the result is always fun and stylish!

Braiding a scarf into your hair may be an oldie, but it is definitely a goodie. [Remember this Hermes SS10 ad featuring Karlie Koss with a twilly braided through her hair?] Not only is it pretty in a Bohemian flower-child kind of way, it is also great for keeping your hair in place. The beauty about it is that it will work equally well whether you are doing spring-cleaning or going to a summer music festival.
Another small on effort but big on style tip is to wear your braided scarf as a collar necklace. The simplest way to do this is to take three silk scarves (you can mix and match the prints and colours however you like), braid them and tie it around your neck. You can also braid gold chains or strings of pearls into the scarves to create an interesting tactile effect!

Etsy is a great resource for gorgeous, hand-crafted braided scarves or necklaces, such as this multi-coloured yarn rope scarf. However, if you are up for some crafty fun and have some old T-shirts lying around, why not try your hands at making a braided T-shirt scarf? It is only a matter of cutting out strips of jersey fabric, braiding them together and voila! you have yourself a quirky new scarf.

So, if you are looking to add a little spunk into your outfits, a braided scarf may just be the answer!
